Red Source™ was founded in 2002 when a brave knight saved a beautiful princess from a big scary dragon (you know the one) and they planted some magic beans in their back garden. These beans soon grew into the UK’s leading supplier of promotional toys and premiums known throughout the land as Red Source - the actual conception was far less interesting but we thought this sounded much better. Red Source works with their clients to develop creative and effective sales promotion campaigns for magazines and brands targeted at kids.

Safety

Something we never joke about. Red Source understands the importance of safety and we work closely with our top testing laboratory to ensure that all premiums comply with European safety standards and all factories used in the manufacturing process comply with local and international laws regarding safety and ethical working practices. For all orders, clients are presented with valid safety certificates for each item before delivery.

Quality Control

When mass producing large volumes, it is vital that standards of quality remain consistent throughout. To this end, our factories carry out stringent Q.C. procedures and we can arrange for intervention testing during production or pre-shipment testing before the goods are despatched. Proof samples are also provided for each order before starting mass production and production samples follow on for extra peace of mind at agreed stages of the run.

Covermounts

For those who skipped this lesson, a covermount is a free gift attached to the cover of a magazine, comic or newspaper, designed to encourage purchase, build relationships and compliment editorial.
Red source understands the important role covermounts play in the overall strategy of delighting readers and increasing circulation.

We use our vast experience, creative skills and knowledge of the marketplace to design and source fun and exciting covermounts to suit any title, promotional theme or license.

So how does this all work? Well, challenge us with a brief and we will get back to you with samples and visuals of our ideas. Once the final concept has been chosen and budgets met, the order is confirmed. We then provide proof samples for approval (featuring your own artwork and choice of colours) and carry out the safety testing before starting mass production with our experienced manufacturers. Further production samples are also provided for our clients to check that everything is just so!

Premiums

Red Source also has a wealth of experience in designing and producing premiums for event linked campaigns, insert premiums for the breakfast cereal market and on or off pack goodies for the fast food and FMCG sectors.

Using our super-human creative skills, we can develop exciting premium concepts from visual stage through to sampling.

Bucket loads of experience enables us to project manage large volume orders from the design stage, through all aspects of production and packaging to final delivery.

Delivery

Red Source toys are delivered individually by hot air balloon (not really but that would be fun wouldn’t it?).

Delivery is vital to any project and we work hard to ensure that all orders are delivered on or before the agreed date, leaving you to worry about other things such as those pressing print deadlines or what to have for your tea.

Lead times for orders shipped by Sea are 3 - 4 months from order confirmation to final delivery and this can be shortened to 2 - 3 months for orders shipped by Air (fancy airplane that is, not balloon).

Environment

Red Source appreciates our environment (even those grubby little bits in the corner) and where possible, we use bio-degradable packaging and recyclable materials.

Research & Planning

At Red Source, we do our homework.

In between eating cakes and endless rounds of tea, Red Source keeps it’s magic 3rd eye on the premium market to ensure that we are amongst the first to know about new brands, properties, big events, TV shows and movie releases. This information can then provide a focus for new campaigns and premiums.

We also make regular trips to trade shows in Far East and EC for inspiration and to meet with our suppliers face to face.

We can also conduct qualitative and quantitative research on children’s shopping habits or attitudes to new premium ideas. Data captured can then be made available to clients to help direct promotional activity.

Product Development

Alright, so we may have got Fs in CDT (who didn’t) but Red Source are still great at working with clients to develop innovative new concepts to suit the strategy and budget of any campaign.

We can also modify any of our existing products to suit your exact requirement. So, if you like our Play Mobile Phone but need it to transform into an Inter Galactic Space Monster with lazer guided missiles for ears, we can do it (apart from the ears, that would be foolish, everybody knows that Inter Galactic Space Monsters fire missiles from their tummies).

To help the development process, skilled designers (they wear Black roll necks you know, even in Summer) can prepare fancy sketches of new products to help visualize new ideas and turn concepts into reality.

Hand made samples of new products are also lovingly produced for clients to approve and modify before safety testing and production starts.
